Clinical Titles Program  

Invitation to Apply

Happy Nurse The School of Nursing and Midwifery invites nursing colleagues who participate in teaching and/or research related to nursing to apply for a clinical title with the School.

Who are clinical academics?

Clinical academics are colleagues who have an ongoing relationship with the School of Nursing and Midwifery. They are usually involved in teaching programs and/or research related to nursing, and do not receive remuneration for their work.

Appointment entitles a clinical academic to a number of benefits including access to any available University discounts and access to the library, University network and Internet for University purposes.

All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence and according to University of Tasmania selection criteria.

The clinical titles that the SNM offers are:
  • Clinical Tutor
  • Clinical Lecturer
  • Clinical Senior Lecturer
  • Clinical Associate Professor
  • Clinical Professor

Process for new applicants

Interested colleagues should:
  1. Download the electronic application form below (Microsoft Word Format).
  2. Download the selection criteria document.
  3. Open the electronic application in a word processor.
  4. Complete all sections of the electronic application form.
  5. Produce an electronic CV (preferably in Microsoft word or saved as Rich Text Format) which also addresses the selection criteria.
  6. Produce an electronic letter (preferably in Microsoft Word or saved as Rich Text Format) outlining your present and anticipated involvement with the School.
  7. Attach to an email the completed selection criteria document along with your CV, covering letter and any other relevant electronic materials.
  8. Send this email to the Clinical Titles Program Co-ordinator (details given below).

Process for renewal

Current title holders should:
  1. Download the electronic renewal form below (Microsoft Word Format).
  2. Open the electronic renewal form in a word processor.
  3. Complete all sections of the electronic application form.
  4. Produce an electronic letter (preferably in Microsoft Word or saved as Rich Text Format) outlining any other information regarding your present and anticipated involvement with the School.
  5. Produce an updated electronic CV (preferably in Microsoft word or saved as Rich Text Format) which also addresses the selection criteria.
  6. Attach to an email the completed renewal form along with the updated CV and the required letter (and other relevant electronic materials).
  7. Send this email to the Clinical Titles Program Co-ordinator (details given below).
