Welcome to the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Tasmania. We are delighted that you have chosen the Bachelor of Nursing Course (BN) as preparation for a professional career in nursing. Nursing can be a unique lifelong career that offers graduates a broad range of career options. In the current climate in health care and given the impact of globalisation, nurses are in great demand and the profession provides a wonderful opportunity for graduates to travel.
If you decide to undertake postgraduate nursing education after you complete the BN, the School of Nursing and Midwifery offers programs that include postgraduate studies in midwifery, child and family, mental health, paediatrics, rural and remote, community, emergency, critical care, aged care, women's health, and acute care nursing. These choices are welcomed by new graduates who are seeking a diverse professional career.
My colleagues and I look forward to meeting you and may I take this opportunity to wish you success in your nursing career.
